Hi!

People who have children may say that they spent a lot of money on diapers. Here are some tips for parents to save some money on these popular product.

The cost of daily-use items needed to care for a new baby can be a shock to many a new parent’s budget. Diapers, formula, baby food, bath soap and other everyday items can add up quickly, but so can the savings. Most baby product companies have a toll-free number to call, after which customer service will send coupons to help offset the costs.

Gerber will send coupons up to once a month, and Similac has a Welcome Additions club that will send $5 checks for formula. Gerber and Johnson & Johnson also have printable coupons on their Web sites. You can combine these coupons or those in the newspaper with store coupons and sales.

Tip: Call for coupons from manufacturers’ customer service lines.

Examples: Target has a $5-off coupon if you purchase both Pampers diapers and 180-count wipes, plus a $5 gift card coupon, also for buying both. Both coupons can be printed from the Web site www.targetcoupongenerator.com (scroll down for the Target coupons).

In the Target insert in today’s paper, jumbo packs of diapers also are on sale for $8.49 (regularly $9.99); the 180-count wipes regularly are $5.99. In the P&G Brandsaver coupon insert, there is a $1 coupon for Pampers jumbo-size diapers as well as a 50 cents-off coupon for wipes. Combine all these coupons, and you save $13, making the grand total $2.98 for diapers and wipes.
